Reaction to Bob Lutz

Simply put, in Wichita you will find people who either love or hate Bob Lutz. He always has an opinion and is always interesting to talk to because it will never be a dull conversation. I personally am not a Bob Lutz fan, but I put my personal feelings aside to pick his brain last week.

There is nothing at all fake about Bob Lutz, he always says what is on his mind and I respect that. I also respect very much his love and respect for Wichita, because I also have those feelings. I respect that he had little desire to go to a big city and work for a "big-time" newspaper.

I respect his experience and how honest he was about juggling being a fan and a journalist/columnist. He is not the first person that I have heard say that it is nearly impossible to be a fan of the team you're covering, you must be objective.

In spite of my feelings for Bob, I do respect the fact that he does not care what other people think about his columns. He writes what he sees and he will stand behind it, no matter who he may rub the wrong way. That is the one thing that I will never talk negatively about him.
